On 25 September a GPS fix near Oulainen-municipality, 178 kilometres to the south of Tervola-region indicated that Auli-crane had commenced migration. On 26 Sept. the crane had continued 238 km to the south-west revealing the first stopover site in the vicinity of Virrat-municipality in Finland.
